Aims and Objectives of the Organisation

The Study Group was founded in 1978 to promote exchange of ideas between workers in clinical and laboratory disciplines who are interested in lysosomal storage diseases.


Lipid Laden Lysosomes

Objectives:

.  To encourage closer contact and collaboration between member groups and laboratories by dissemination of information, the exchange of materials and the promotion of other activities to facilitate personal contacts.

.  The organisation of a biennial Workshop, held in different European countries.

Membership:

.  Membership is open to European laboratories and groups actively engaged in research on lysosomal disorders.

.  The Study Group has presently 90 members groups from 22 countries.

.  Each member group nominates a correspondent to represent the group in esgld matters.

.  The subscription is EUR 100 per 3 years.

Major Areas of Work:

.  Clinical, biochemical and molecular genetical study of lysosomal storage diseases.

.  Cell biology of lysosomes.

.  diagnosis and treatment of lysosomal storage diseases.
